Why Neinstein Plastic Surgery?
As the newest surgeon to join NPS, I feel very fortunate to be a part of such an excellent, dynamic team. I trained in both Canada and the US, as well as practiced in Ann Arbor, Michigan to begin my career. I considered many paths for my future, but ultimately decided join NPS. I wanted to give 5 reasons I feel it was an opportunity unlike any other and might also be a perfect fit for you as a patient.
1. I wanted to be part of a practice that puts patients first.
This may seem obvious, but unfortunately this is not always the case in plastic surgery. There are so many things that can distract a practice from the patients; finances, brand building, business management, etc… Ultimately a core belief that I share with NPS is that the patient is entirely why we do what we do. Plastic surgery is not a numbers game. We are dealing with people and our goal is to help them change their lives in a profound and positive way. No matter what other factors may be pulling for our attention the core ideal is that the patients must always come first. This guides every decision made in the practice and is why the patient experience at NPS is truly second to none.
2. I want to be part of a practice that prioritizes relationships not transactions.
As time progresses, everything seems to be becoming more efficient, more expensive but with poorer quality; in short, more commoditized. This also applies to plastic surgery where it is becoming increasingly common to see specials and packages advertised with low prices to attract more patients. This usually means patients barely spend any time with the surgeon before or after surgery and may not have access to help if problems arise. I have never accepted that approach to plastic surgery. The relationship is the foundation for the entire patient journey. Once I visited Neinstein Plastic Surgery, it became obvious how dedicated the entire team was to hospitality and patient care. From the moment you call, to the entire post-op period until you are healed (and beyond!), the surgeons and teams are there for you, building and nurturing that relationship. This is a factor that is underappreciated to patients until they experience it, and why so many NPS patients refer their friends. While surgery can always be an intimidating experience, when that relationship is fostered long before you step in the operating room, you can feel comfortable knowing you will be taken care of every step of the way.
3. I want to be part of a proactive, not reactive practice.
It is so easy in today’s world to become reactive to issues as they arise. The problem with this, of course, is that the issues have to occur in order for them to be noticed. You then spend your time looking backwards at how to fix it. The far more effective approach is to be looking forward, trying to find and prevent potential problems before they occur. Being a lifelong learner is a core value at NPS. This can seen in a variety of ways, whether it is the monthly book club, using new technologies in surgery (such as the recent addition of Prevena or Brijjit for optimizing wound healing), or the process by which patients are welcomed into the practice by our coordinators. No matter how small the detail, if it can be improved, NPS will be trying to find the way to do it.
4. I want to work with others as passionate about their craft as I am.
Any practice or business is only as good as the people behind. While the surgeons may be the first faces you see on the website or on social media, there is an entire team of people that helps make the patient experience special and unique. From the front desk staff that answers your phone calls, to the coordinators that walk you through the process from start to finish, to the OR staff that helps ensure you get the safest possible surgery, as well as all the administrative staff and vendors you might never see as a patient; NPS has some of the best and most passionate in the business at every level. This drives an unrelenting and commitment to the patient experience and empowers everyone to constantly improving. While perfection is impossible, with the right people it can be the goal, and you just might get close.
5. I want to work with like-minded patients from all over the world to make the largest impact on others possible.
If you’ve made it this far (firstly, thank you so much for reading!), then you have probably gotten the message that the patient is at the core of everything we do at NPS. What enhances this is the amazing patients that seem to find NPS. When a practice has such a clear vision, it draws the right people in. They are very like-minded to us: hardworking, dedicated, solution oriented and have usually exhausted every way of solving their problems on their own, before seeking out help. Drawn by the energy and passion of the people at NPS, they come from all corners of the world to be a part it. There is no better feeling than when a patient tells us that they would’ve never worn this before, or that they wouldn’t have had the confidence to take that vacation before. It’s why we do what we do: to help patients live the fullest expression of their lives.
Hopefully this gives you a glimpse why I felt Neinstein Plastic Surgery is such a special place to practice. I look forward to working with the passionate, energetic team and meeting all you amazing patients. To follow along my journey at NPS, please check me out on Instagram at @pierrelapainemd.
