My Plastic Surgery Journey as an Orthodox Woman

My journey with Dr. Neinstein began years before I even knew it was him. For many years after having children I felt uncomfortable in my own skin and knew I needed a change. I obsessed over many plastic surgeons’ instagram portfolios for many years but none seemed to match the aesthetic I was looking for. About two years ago, my friend from the Woodmere neighborhood in New York, who had similar concerns to me told me she had just had a mommy makeover with Dr. Neinstein and I was floored when I saw her results. I immediately followed and scrolled through the dramatic before and after photos and stories.

As a modern orthodox Jewish woman, I wasn’t as concerned with a ‘bikini body’ as I was with the ‘modest body’ I desired. Since I leave my home covering my neckline, elbows and knees on a daily basis to adhere to a modest method of dressing I knew I wasn’t going to be flaunting my tummy in crop top any time soon, however I did still want to look good. Modesty doesn’t mean walking out in an oversized tent- dress all the time. I wanted to wear fitted garments that made me feel confident even though I was still covering up. Before my surgery, I lacked confidence in leaving my home in anything but loose garments because of my post babies pooch, diastasis recti issue and large, heavy breasts that sagged from many years of nursing. Dr. Neinstein understood my concerns and we decided on a circumferential tuck with abdominal repair as well as a breast reduction and lift.

From the moment of our first appointment throughout the entire post recovery process, Dr. Neinstein has been by my side. He understands many concerns that an orthodox woman would have post op including: going to the Mikvah (a process of submersion in water to cleanse body and soul after a menstruation cycle), keeping a kosher diet to promote healthy healing after surgery and also understanding my need to return home from the post op recovery care at the hotel before the Sabbath began. It definitely calmed me to know that I didn’t have to explain these details to him as he was already familiar with it from many orthodox clients before me!

Dr. Neinstein has been holding my hand (literally and figuratively) throughout this process the entire time and is definitely the best surgeon I have ever encountered EVER!

I am still in the early stages of recovering and can’t wait for the MOD BOD of my dreams thanks to Dr. Neinstein and his team!
